Contact
Say hello.
Inkwelo is made by one person. Every message goes straight to me — there is no ticketing system, no chatbot and no support queue between us.
I read everything and aim to reply within a few working days. If you have not heard back within a week, do send a nudge — it will have gone astray rather than been ignored.
What to write about
Something is broken
Bugs, crashes, odd behaviour. The more precisely you can describe what happened, the faster it gets fixed.
Something is missing
Feature requests and rough ideas both welcome. Tell me what you were trying to do and where the app got in the way.
Refunds and purchases
Handled by Apple, not by me — see below. Write anyway if something has gone wrong and I will help you sort it out.
Press and reviews
Happy to answer questions, provide assets or arrange a licence for a review. Just say what you need.
Reporting a bug
A good report saves a round of back-and-forth. If you can, include:
- Your macOS version and Mac model — Apple menu → About This Mac.
- Your Inkwelo version — Inkwelo menu → About Inkwelo.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- Whether it happens every time or only sometimes.
- A screenshot or short screen recording, if it is something you can see.
Please do not send the text of unpublished work unless it is genuinely necessary to reproduce the problem — and if it is, send the smallest excerpt that still shows the bug. Email is not a secure channel, and I would rather not hold your manuscript. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to messages you send.
Refunds
Inkwelo is sold through the Mac App Store, which means Apple takes the payment and Apple issues the refunds. Developers are not given the ability to refund a purchase, so I genuinely cannot do it from my end.
Request one directly from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. The 14-day trial is there so you can be sure the app suits you before paying at all. If something about a purchase has gone wrong, write to me anyway and I will help however I can.
Privacy questions
The short answer is that Inkwelo collects nothing: no account, no server, no telemetry, no tracking, and your writing never leaves your Mac. The long answer, including what happens if you sync your folder to iCloud or Dropbox yourself, is in the Privacy Policy.
For data-protection requests specifically, use the same address and I will respond within 30 days.
Who you are writing to
Inkwelo is built and supported by one developer, and that is who answers this address.
